Uptone Pictures is an independent film production company based in North Carolina. We produce original films and television through our Uptone Originals division, and make our professional production infrastructure available to outside clients through Uptone Production Services.

Uptone Pictures was founded by Michael Davis with a single conviction: that independent filmmakers could produce work that competes at the professional level — without the studio system. Over more than two decades, that conviction has been proven out. Our films have been distributed domestically and internationally, reaching audiences through Netflix, Amazon, theatrical release, and broadcast television networks.
What started as a production company built around original storytelling grew into something broader. The same editing suites, post-production workflows, broadcast finishing pipelines, and remote production infrastructure we built for our own films are now available to outside clients — ministries, broadcasters, corporate clients, and independent producers who need professional-grade work delivered on deadline.

Michael Davis
Founder & Executive Producer
Michael Davis is the founder and executive producer of Uptone Pictures. With more than 25 years of experience across film production, post-production, and broadcast delivery, he has shepherded projects from development through international distribution.
His producing credits include Union Bound, Paul's Promise, Christmas on Highway 101, A Box for Rob, One Shot, and Dark Horse — features that have been distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films, placed on Netflix and Amazon, and broadcast on television networks domestically and internationally.
Davis built Uptone's production infrastructure from the ground up — editing facilities in Raleigh and Los Angeles, remote production workflows capable of coordinating crews across multiple cities, and broadcast finishing pipelines that meet the technical requirements of every major platform. That infrastructure is the foundation of both Uptone Originals and Uptone Production Services.
